I’m a journalist based in Encinitas, California, currently covering disaster recovery and philanthropy for the Associated Press.

Previously, I was a climate solutions reporter at Grist. I also served as the content director of two digital news websites, TransWorld Business and GrindTV, and co-led the consolidation of those two publications into a multi-platform outdoor content hub called Adventure Sports Network, since purchased by A360 Media. I was part of a small team that launched The Huffington Post’s Honolulu desk, have freelanced for several national publications, and assisted a former New York Times bureau chief with a book on nuclear security.

I have a B.A. in History from Princeton University and a master’s degree with honors from Columbia Journalism School.

In my free time you’ll find me in the surf, at a dance studio, or walking my Belgian Malinois, Moon.
